C

So the drama continues :( .  We had a big fight again this morning.  She couldn’t find her shoes anywhere and of course that blew up into insanity.  She ended up having to wear her trainers instead of her school shoes and she and J were late for school.  Then to make matters worse she was still going ugh when we got to the school and we ended up having a talk in the headmistress’ office.

I think C is doing better.  I’m still a bit pissed to be honest.  I’m tired of her acting like this.  I’m tired of her attitude affecting the whole household.  Hopefully a day of having to stick out because she is blantently out of uniform will help  – I hope that doesn’t sound too mean.  But enough is enough.  She’s a great kid, she’s proved that she can be amazing.  I just wish she would make more of an effort to do so. :(

So now, I am going to get to gut out the playroom to look for her missing shoe – yippee.

So T had her annual dental appt yesterday and she was SOOOOO excited!  She even got her first x-rays.  The dentist did not however find her wobbly teeth ;) !

**after posting this and showing T, I got the biggest hug and a “thank you for taking me to the dentist!” – wow, they aren’t even as cool as our dentist in AR was – he was awesome!

It came on Saturday – the change……

J woke up and said he was going to be good, C woke up in a mood.  :(

Neither were very good this weekend though.  Not sure what was going on with them.  They certainly had some up and down mood swings.  T wasn’t feeling the sweetest either – but she was adjusting to sleeping w/o her wa, so I can understand that.

Unfortunately this Monday morning was much more reminiscent of how things had been previously - super unpleasant getting ready for school :( .  Hopefully C gets back in a better mood again.  She was so much more enjoyable and fun to be around when she decided to behave!  We got to do a lot of fun things together and it was just happier around here.

bye bye wa…

So last Thursday Jason and T sent her wa’s (what she’s always called a pacifier – no we have no clue why!) up to heaven.  It was a very touching “ceremony”.  She is a little pyro, so Jason thought this would be the best way to get rid of them.  It seems to have worked.  She threw the last three into the fire that he let her help start (!) and got the closure she needed.  Jason told her that they would turn into the smoke from the fire and float up to heaven.

She’s done really well it, much better then I would have ever thought considering her unnatural attachment to them.  My baby really isn’t a baby anymore…..

pretty happy about it after all :)

**On a side note – apologies to those who I haven’t talked to/gotten back to in the last week.  Y’all know how clumsy I can be.  I was leaning over to pick up the trash bag in the kitchen and smacked my head on the bar stool (to the point that I bled) and had a seriously severe headache for about three days).  And no I didn’t go to the dr – I had a headache and didn’t want to make it worse!

C update :)

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness!  It HAS continued!!!  She has been being AWESOME :) !!!  It has been fabulous!!!!

Now because C and J have always been the ying/yang of each other, he’s been being a bit of a booty head….but hey, it’s got to happen eventually??

And to be honest – his bad is better than hers ;0!

My big girl

So it’s really quiet, too quiet in the house this afternoon…..

I go to investigate.  Okay, I send J to see what C is up to because I was working on the computer ;) !

He comes back and says……..

C is cleaning the kitchen!!!  I said, the dining room (I had previously asked that all their things be picked up from there), he said, no the kitchen!

So I come down and see my little girl cleaning the kitchen!  She told me that she was trying to be the good little girl that I always tell her she but has a hard time being :) .  AWWW!  When that kid decides to turn things around, she really turns things around!

Let’s hope this is the sign of lovely things to come.  But even if it’s not – I had one good afternoon :)

J man

The tooth is OUT!!! Finally, after about a month and half!  My son no longer has a shark smile.  There is no longer two teeth in one spot.  He is no longer having pain while eating :) .

And all it took was two different dental appoinments and me gently pleading with the dentist today.  She was going to leave it in J’s hands – he could decide if he wanted it pulled.  She did not want to do anything he did not want.  But thankfully she saw through to the fact that HE was NOT going to do anything with it.  He has my tooth aversion.   I think they are disgusting too and can’t stand to pull one.  It is my one mommy failing :(

But it is done and over with and now the tooth fairy can come tonight!  And because he was so brave (it took awhile to get that thing out!), we went to the bookstore and he got to pick out two books.  Not a bad deal for him; no pain, two books and a dollar from the tooth fairy!

Saturday

Too tired to think of a clever title!

Today was a good, productive day!  We did go and get J’s new bed today.  After we got it home and cleaned and polished it up we discovered that it does not need refinished :) .  It took Jason some effort (in strength) to get it up our small, curved stairs – but he was awesome :) .  It is a very nice, solid, heavy wooden bed with trundle drawer.  So a bit to manuver around.  But he got the bunkbeds all put back together and J’s room fixed and arranged – yea!  We did help out, but of course just don’t have the brute strength that he does ;) !

So we have one super happy little boy now.  His patience defintely paid off.

I also have very happy kids because we bit the bullet today and bought a new computer.  We were looking for a desktop for them, but everything was so pricey on base that we ended up getting me a new laptop (for the same price as a desktop) and they will get my old laptop.  Which works out perfect for them because I wanted them to have all of the programs that I already had.  And all the things that they have been doing on my computer are of course already there :) .  It’s nice for me because I have a smaller laptop now.  The one I was using was a really nice 17″ screen; which we got because of letting the kids watch movies on it.  But it felt a bit big to be toting around at times.  This one is about 15″.  And it’s got that new Windows 7 thing which is pretty cool.

So now I get to clean out the old laptop and get it ready for the kids.  Yea – I can set up their educational games :) .  I have tens of thousands of pictures though and over 3,000 documents to move around though.  Lucky for me when I spilled the wine on the keyboard last August I backed everything up ;) !  So at least it’s pretty recent!

The other great thing about today was going out bowling with our friends.  Between the two families we have 7 children – which can lead to a lot of fun :) .  Bowling with all the kids can be a bit ummm, something at times but everyone has fun so that’s all that matters in the end :) .

Okay, so I am super tired and I think I’ve proved that by putting way to many emoticons in, so I think I’ll put this new toy away and go to bed ;) !

Looks like T and I’s four hour nap did some good!  We both woke up feeling better today and actually got out and did some errands.  Yea for us that one of those errands landed us at a friend’s house for a bit.  Which lead to our biggest accomplishment today.  Which was to find J a new bed.  Why does he need a new bed you may ask?

Welllllllllllll, about six months or so? back when we moved the girls in to a room together our bed situation went as follows:  J had the bunkbeds, C had a daybed and T had her crib turned toddler bed.  Jason decided that the girls should just share the bunkbed and give them more space.  Makes sense.  Unfortunately the daybed would have taken up all the space in J’s room (in case I haven’t mentioned, rooms are really small here!).  So we sold the daybed and crib and the intention was to for Jason to make J a bed.  Well it was a good intention, but unfortunately Jason is not home very much.  So J has been a super kid and not been complaining at all about just having his mattress on the floor.  Now to add an odd twist to this story we go back to the girls.  I love C with all of my heart, she is a fabulous kid – she is also a super slob.  After her constantly trashing the girls’ room, I decided that we should separate the bunks.  This left about 17″ of floor space between the beds.  Surely not enough room for her to continue the trashing of the room (which was driving T and well, everyone in the house nuts).  Boy was I wrong.  So Jason decides that if she can’t take care of things then maybe she doesn’t need a bed (temporary of course).  So he gives J that bed back and puts C’s mattress on T’s bed (making it tall like a princess!).  And C gets her sleeping bag.  It may sound harsh, but those of you that know our super, super, super strong-willed kid know that it takes big steps to get to her.

So this was two weeks ago.  C finally gets it in her head the beginning of this week that if she just would put away the clean clothes that we give her, life would go smoother.  So last night Jason decides that if she continues to do well she can have the mattress back, then earn her way back to the full bed.  He also decides that he is never going to be able to build a bed for our extremely patient little boy and that we should go buy one this weekend.

Which brings us back to today.  I decided that instead of taking 3 kids all over the frigging place bed shopping, it would be much easier to do it with just T.  She was so excited to “surprise” her buddy with a bed.  Unfortunately we struck out.  The base only had twin sized beds made out of MDF.  I am not spending $250 on a cheaply made bed.  Especially not for a very active 6 yr. old boy!  The store in town had a metal one that he liked, but it didn’t have any of the built-in storage that we really wanted.  Which is also not a big deal, we could still put totes underneath for him.  Lucky for me though my friend just happened to have a heavy wooden bed with the trundle drawer that she would like to get rid of – yea!  It looks like it may need refinishing (it’s been in their garage for about 3 years), but that’s not a big deal.

So when I picked J up from school it was not with a new bed already at home, but with two choices for him.  He decided on the wooden bed.  He’s pretty excited about the refinishing and getting to help choose colors and what not.  Although I did veto his idea for blue and red stripes….

Now coming back to C.  This is where the evening got a bit entertaining.  She did earn her mattress back.  Yea for C!!!!  However T had very different, very strong feelings about this.  She started a SCREAMING fit that kept coming and going about how she wanted her princess mattresses back and that C could not take her bed!!!!  Hmmm, whoever knew that two mattress made you a princess and taking one away took all the glory away too?????

At least C should sleep better tonight :)
