Parkinson’s fundraiser

This is just the first of likely many posts that I will be sharing with you all as my family works towards helping out with this very worthy cause❤️!

In August of 2009 my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. This has led to some serious changes in his life, one of the greatest changes being his retirement from the police force.

However he is still rather young and has faced this all with a great attitude. It has definitely been challenging for him, but he has proved over and over to his family the lesson that he and mom always taught us; life will challenge you and you can either rise to the challenge and enjoy life or let it get you down – it’s not worth letting it get you down. He has not let this disease bring him down but has learned to work with it or around it to maintain a very full and rich life.

In honor of my amazing dad, on 13 September 2014 I will be participating in the Parkinson’s UK skydiving fundraising event.

The kids are getting into the spirit as well and have already started brainstorming ways in which they can help to raise funds!! They are such awesome kids❤️. C is going to see if she can do a bake sale at lunch at her school. J and T are planning a lemonade stand for our next sunny day🍋! And J is going to ask at his school to see if there is anything that he can do there as well.

Please help the kids and I raise money for Parkinson’s research and assistance. It is such a worthy cause. The more that can be done now will only help to benefit people like my dad now and in the future.
